A Credit Card Security Code (CVV2) is an important new Internet security feature. It is a 3- or 4-digit number which is not part of the credit card number.
This code is only printed on the card, and is not contained in the magnetic stripe information. It also does not appear on sales receipts or billing statements; you must have the card in your possession in order to use this code.
Card security codes are not raised, so they are not scanned into standard credit card readers. When you provide this code to us, you are helping us verify that your order is being placed by you, the cardholder.
On MasterCard and VISA cards, the 3-digit security code is on the back. On American Express cards, the 4-digit security code is on the front.
